Was born in 1891 in  Wolkowilsky, Lithuania.


He enrolled as a student in the Art Academy in Lodz,Poland, and later specialized in wood coloring in Farben Technikum in Berlin where he dicovered and developed the painting method which he named "ARTELANISM" (ART+LAIN+WOOL in french).


For this technique he used raw sheep wool colored whit Aniline dyes.


The colored wool fibers are placed in layers without the aid foreign elements.


In 1925 he emigrated to Israel, then Palestine, whit his family.


He was among the founders of the "Artists and sculptors" organization and was well integrated in the atristic  life of the country.


He believed in "Art for the people"; If the people of the small communities can't come to the galleries in town-the artists should present their art in the communities.


The main subjects of his art were derived from Jewish folklore and from the Bible.


His last show was held in 1960 in Madrid, Spain, where he died in January 1961.      


Two of its works are found in the museum of Tel-Aviv.
